The Mérida World House Forum Conference was co-organized by The World House Project and Autonomous University of Yucatán.
The three-day conference with the theme "Building Peace and Social Justice in Community" aimed to convene a global network of individuals, groups, and organizations that promote peace and justice as the foundation for social action and order in the global community. As a regional conference with a global reach, the MWHPC identified regional issues of peace and conflict that have a worldwide impact.
Its keynote speaker, Nobel Laurate Dra. Regoberita Menchú engaged the nearly 2,000 students, scholars, academics, activists, and leaders in civic, business, and government sectors in attendance. Additionally, students developed the “Youth Declaration: Toward an Integral and Sustainable Culture of Peace.”
Attendees participated in panels, workshops, and plenary sessions to deliberate, decide, and act on current issues and to design strategies that contribute to the global dialogue and efforts to eliminate cupidity, bigotry, and violent rivalry while advancing social, cultural, and economic development.

As a regional conference with a global reach, the KWHPC addressed regional issues of peace and conflict that have a worldwide impact.
Its keynote speak was Martin Luther King, III, engaged students, scholars, academics, activists, and leaders in civic, business, and government sectors to deliberate, decide, and act on these issues and to design strategies that contribute to the global dialogue.
